This small development of twelve dwellings on a brownfield site achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating under Eco Homes, the forerunner of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The development opportunity had been identified by AD having worked on the regeneration of the surrounding area over a number of years. The design of the houses incorporates a two storey ‘sun space’ which not only provides additional living accommodation, but acts as a solar collector in winter and a thermal buffer in summer.
The scheme was procured by Swan under a design and build contract.
