King Edward VI Sixth Form College
- client:
King Edward VI Sixth Form College
- project cost:
£17m
- location:
Stourbridge
- description:
King Edward VI College Stourbridge (KEVIC) is one of the top performing sixth form colleges in the country, in spite of operating on a very cramped urban site.
AD Architects' proposals seek to create new built learning environments (including main entrance and gateway, science centre, refectory, visual and performing arts) and introduce ‘collegiate’ spaces between the buildings that facilitate both social interaction and quiet contemplation.
The project gained full planning consent from Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and reached Approval in Principle stage prior to the LSC funding collapse in 2009.
