  • client:
  • Paul Strickland Scanner Centre

  • project cost:
  • £2.8m

  • location:
  • Northwood

  • description:
  • This highly serviced building on the Mount Vernon Hospital site comprises a Cyclotron Laboratory, a Radio Pharmacy and a Research Laboratory, located adjacent to the existing Grade II listed hospital buildings. It was the first bespoke building of its type in the United Kingdom, specifically designed to conform to MCA & PQAS standards. It is also now being used as the model for its occupier in the development of their business throughout Europe.

Its location and form were derived from prolonged and detailed discussions and negotiations with both English Heritage and the local planning authority.

"AD Architects designed and managed the construction and commissioning of the first fully cGMP qualified and licensed PET Cyclotron Facility. Since the facility became operational it has functioned extremely well. As Managing Director and the responsible executive of PETNet in control of the project, the subsidiary company of Siemens, I heartily endorse AD Architects."
