ISO 14001 Accreditation
AD has recently gained accreditation under BS EN ISO 14001:2004 to add to the BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certification we received five years ago.
ISO 14001 is an international standard to evaluate an organisation's environmental management system, and applies both in relation to the running of the firm (reducing the use of resources, minmising waste, recycling, and using environmentally sound sources) and in terms of the buildings we design (where we have a duty to consider the environmental aspects of design in terms of local environment, re-using materials, recycling, new materials/technologies and reducing reliance on non-renewable sources for materials and control of the internal environment of buildings).
Overall this accreditation formalises an ethos with which AD has operated for some time and will reassure clients of our practice's positive environmental stance.
