Partner and then Director of AD since 1993 with responsibilities for education, healthcare, social services buildings, specification writing, accessibility audits and landscape design.

Qualified as an architect in 1984, having completed a design thesis on community schools at the University of Nottingham.

Paul spent a number of years in local government designing schools, colleges and buildings for social services. His experience includes being seconded for a number of years to the Hertfordshire Architecture Workshop, an initiative which brings an awareness of architecture, design and the environment to school children. Paul has been active in the education sector for over 20yrs.

Paul is currently developing detailed proposals for a new four-storey landmark Further Education College in Epping. It comprises approximately 14,500m² of accommodation, including a public library at an estimated value of £23m. The project has recently obtained Planning Approval and is due to start on site in the Autumn of 2006.

Other recent projects have included:

St John Rigby College, a sixth form college in Orrell Wigan. Paul worked closely with the College to agree a solution including both new build and refurbishment which was funded by the Learning and Skills Council. The £4m scheme includes a new entrance atrium, learning resource centre, science laboratories and chapel, and was handed over to the client's complete satisfaction in 2006

Belmont Park School, Walthamstow. This Special Educational Needs (SEN) school completed in 2004 comprised a twenty-two place Emotionally and Behaviourally Disturbed (EBD) secondary school and a thirty place pupil referral unit. It was created by remodelling and extending an existing primary school at a cost of £3m. The project was completed within a short programme through the use of a management contract.

Past projects have included new and refurbishment works to Nursery, Primary, and Secondary Schools as well as Further and Higher Education projects for Colleges and Universities. Paul has also been involved in Access audits and DDA works.
