  • A Partner/Director of AD since 1989 with responsibilities for healthcare, research and community use projects; as well as development of pre-engineering solutions to suit fast-track and quality control requirements. He also has extensive experience of brief writing.

  • Registered as an architect in 1977, having completed his architectural education at the Leicester Polytechnic.

    Paul has previously held a succession of senior posts in both local government and new towns offices, the last being as chief architect of a public authority with one of the largest development programmes in the country.

    His experience also includes major urban design projects in connection with which he has acted as an expert witness on urban design matters at major public inquiries.

  • Epping Hall for Epping Town Council, completed in 2000 this new building includes multi-purpose hall/auditorium, council chamber, offices and other community facilities.

    Heath Lane Centre for the Under Fives at Hemel Hempstead. An innovative building completed in 1999 for joint use and which combines a child development centre with a nursery school.

    Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and research laboratories for the Gray Cancer Institute. A building, which accommodates one of the most powerful pieces of MR imaging equipment in the U.K., as well as other facilities, associated with research into the diagnosis, treatment and cure of cancer.

    Fast track projects, including the design and construction of a cyclotron laboratory & radio-pharmacy for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, at Mount Vernon Hospital and similar facilities at the Inspital, Bern ,Switzerland for PETNet Inc.

    'Alternative to Hospital' project for South London & Maudsley NHS Trust (extension and refurbishment of a Victorian building for mental health use).

    Extensions to accident and emergency departments at Watford General Hospital and Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Welwyn Garden City.

    Hemel Hempstead Hospital Redevelopment Phase 9 works including MRI suite Fracture Clinic, Outpatients Dept & Medical records extensions, Dermatology Unit and Cardiology Services. The latest in a series of phased projects to provide state of the art healthcare facilities consolidated onto a tight and sloping site in permanent use.

    Lewisham Children and Young People's Unit in South London. A state of the art facility delivering a benchmark building that aspires to assist delivery of new models of integrated healthcare and its associated administration centre. A building, which it is proposed, should be predominantly naturally ventilated and self-cooling, is spread over several storeys and will occupy a key urban site.

    Other Cyclotron Laboratories for PetNet Inc in Speke, Liverpool and Middlesex in the UK, as well as the Netherlands along with an Imaging Centre with Cyclotron Laboratory and FDG manufacturing facility in the UK.

    An FDG manufacturing laboratory for MIP Ltd in Birmingham.

    Project manager for a number of public sector major developments including the design and construction of a new Works Department and Depot, as well as the redevelopment of a substantial part of a town centre, incorporating new civic accommodation, leisure and retail facilities.

    Also a number of schemes in relation to various other business case submissions.
